The contributions from our teams span the entire photovoltaic value chain and highlight several major transformations currently shaping the sector.
Silicon, tandem and perovskite/silicon technologies remain at the heart of our research, with work focusing in particular on contacts, metallization, manufacturing processes and upscaling.
Module reliability and durability are also key areas of research, covering ageing, mechanical behaviour, encapsulation materials and new module architectures.
Another major focus is the transition towards a more circular and sustainable photovoltaic industry, with several contributions addressing end-of-life module recycling, as well as the recovery and reuse of materials such as glass, silicon, EVA and backsheet materials.
Our research also extends to PV applications, including building-integrated photovoltaics and floating PV plants, as well as new tools to improve the operation and maintenance of PV installations through artificial intelligence and automated inspection.
Finally, our teams will also address key challenges related to climate resilience, industrial sovereignty and diversity in the photovoltaic sector.
