CARBON will unveil a demonstrator panel at Intersolar in Munich in a few days.

With the adoption of the "Net Zero Industry Act"¹, aimed at supporting the ecological transition and strengthening industrial competitiveness, Europe is at a crucial point in its energy independence. This regulation notably encourages the use of solar panels manufactured within Europe, with the goal of reaching 40% EU-made equipment for renewable energy by 2030.

In this context, CARBON, a French initiative with a European scope, positions itself as a key player in the sustainable reindustrialization of photovoltaic technology in France and Europe, with the creation of a gigafactory in Fos-sur-Mer.

CEA is providing its support and expertise to CARBON in the design of its products, the prequalification of components and materials (known as the BOM for Bill of Materials) that will be used in the manufacturing of its TOPCon solar panels, and preparation of the first certification campaign.

The initial CARBON One Series panel range is designed to meet the needs of the “residential” and “commercial & industrial” market segments. For the residential sector, the product—equivalent to 48 cells—is a 460+ Wp glass/glass module. For the second segment, the design includes a module equivalent to 54 cells, with an output power of 500+ Wp, in Standard or Premium versions in full black.

Prototypes have been manufactured and have passed accelerated aging tests, prequalifying the modules according to IEC-61215 & IEC-61730 standards. These initial studies will enable CARBON to launch the certification campaign for CARBON One Series modules.

CARBON will be exhibiting at INTERSOLAR 2025 (Munich, May 6–9, 2025, booth A2.240) to present its first demonstration module.

The CARBON One Series products are scheduled to enter the market in the second half of 2026.
