The Energy Observer renewable-energy-powered catamaran was launched on April 14 for a six-year mission to achieve advances in sustainable development.
The Energy Observer is clad with 130 sq. m of solar panels, developed in part by the CEA and INES to meet the vessel's unique needs. Curved and bifacial skid-resistant heterojunction modules cover the hulls, deck, and glass walls of the cockpit, for maximum solar energy production per square meter. The Energy Observer is backed by French Ecological Transition Minister and environmental activist Nicolas Hulot and Florence Lambert, Director, CEA Liten.62e71fa3de3c3e94ba8d4529a27011b5
